I think that's the only consensus among 1DX2 users that has us very confused.Canon has just announced the new EOS 6D Mark II ( B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama), here is a basic specs comparison on Canon EOS 6D Mark II with EOS 7D Mark II ( Amazon | B&H | Adorama) and EOS 80D ( Amazon | B&H | Adorama). It doesn't lack any feature for me aside from more touchscreen functionality like I have in my 5D Mark IV. I use this camera as my bread winner to shoot motorsports and events. Adding a feature to make a consumer happy that could cause the camera to MAYBE have a new bug just isn't going to happen. These are tools people depend on in very high-demand circumstances not seen by many other types of camera. But comparing the ownership experience of a Fuji or Olympus to a camera that's in a totally different market segment is unrealistic. Introducing new features is something consumer products benefit from and with technology becoming more flexible, many manufactures from cars to cameras are implementing new features with Firmware updates - this is something NEW that never existed before 3-4 years ago.

The latest version of EOS Utility can be downloaded from CanonвЂ™s Web site. However, the 7D Mark II is a much more recent model (by 2 years and 6 months) than the 5D Mark III, and its sensor will have benefitted from technological advances during this time that further enhance the light gathering capacity of its pixels.

(3) Please use the latest EOS Utility version with the EOS-1D X Mark II after the camera has been updated to Firmware Version 1.1.2 (or later). With 22.1MP, the 5D Mark III offers a higher resolution than the 7D Mark II (20MP), but the 5D Mark III nevertheless has larger individual pixels (pixel pitch of 6.25m versus 4.10m for the 7D Mark II) due to its larger sensor.

(2) Camera settings files created using a camera running Firmware Version 1.0.2 (or earlier) cannot be used on a camera running Firmware Version 1.1.2 (or later).

The firmware update takes approximately six minutes. When updating the firmware of your camera, please first go over the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware. The Version 1.1.3 firmware being released at this time is for cameras with Firmware Version 1.1.2 or earlier.
